When I went to the Steubenville Youth Conference, I honestly was just going because my friends were going... everything changed. When the priest carried the monstrance through the crowd and walked right past us, it suddenly felt so real and personal. As he passed by, we were able to reach out and touch his cloak, and in that moment I felt overwhelmed with peace and emotion. It wasn’t just an event anymore — it felt like I was truly encountering the Lord. Being that close, seeing the Eucharist lifted up in the monstrance, and feeling the faith of everyone around me made something shift in my heart. I went because of my friends, but I left with my own faith feeling stronger and more alive than ever before... I’m also not as afraid to talk about my faith or invite others to church, because I know how powerful that experience was for me. Steubenville didn’t just give me a good memory — it changed how I live out my faith.
