First Communion
Grades 6-7
*If your teen has not received the Sacrament of Baptism,
please contact our OCIA program. They will need to receive their preparation through them.
To prepare your teen for First Communion:
Register your teen for Youth Night
-
Middle School (grades 6-8) | Sundays from 5:45- 7pm
-
We ask that all teens join their peers in the parish at our Middle School Youth Nights. Youth Nights are a place to grow in community and faith with their peers.
Attend a mandatory Parent Session
-
All parents desiring for their children to receive the sacrament must choose one of the following sessions offered:
-
-
Wednesday, May 28 | 6:30-7:30pm
-
Wednesday, August 13 | 6:30-7:30pm
-
Sunday, August 24 | 3-4pm
-
Once a Parent Session is attended, parents will receive their teen's first milestone to take home and complete as a family. Milestones will be self-paced. Teens will receive the next Milestone at Youth Night after the previous Milestone is submitted and approved.
-
*All sessions will be hosted in the Great Hall
Attend Middle School Youth Nights
-
Teens will receive the rest of their milestones at Youth Night. They are expected to attend Sunday Youth Nights while continuing their milestones at home with their families.
-
Teens MUST continue to participate in Youth Nights as they complete their milestones AND after they finish their milestones and await their First Communion Mass.
Participate in a Reconciliation Workshop
Teens will be asked to attend a Reconciliation Workshop an hour before their Mass Rehearsal. This is a MANDATORY session for all teens seeking to receive.
Receiving the First Reconciliation and First Communion
When a teen has completed their Milestone journey and attended the Reconciliation Workshop, they will be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion at the next available Mass (Spring and Fall dates offered).
