Parish MissionThe Parish Mission is a great time to have the St. Francis community come together and listen to a message from a guest speaker. Typically a series talk, the Parish Mission is a great opportunity to deepen our faith together as a Parish.

Annual Mexican Dinner and Cultural DayGeneral Purpose - Each year in September, the AMDCD celebrates how our Catholic faith is practiced throughout the world. With over 25 cultural tents, the beauty of countries are presented by parishioners exhibiting colorful display tables. Live music and dance performances, free children's activities, as well as Mexican food and more catered by local restaurants are featured. Our parish was started by a small group of Mexican Catholics over 40 years ago and the Annual Mexican Dinner has gone from a simple sit-down dinner with about 100 people to the huge multicultural festival it is today with over 2,000 people in attendance.

Targeted Members - whatever your talents, we need your help with planning and coming up with new ideas, taking minutes at meetings, sending emails, making reminder phone calls, contacting sponsors, marketing and promoting the event within the parish and the Frisco/Dallas community, getting entertainment lined up, designing and preparing printed materials, doing photography and videography, selling meal tickets, watching the display tables at the event, or even hosting a cultural tent showcasing the food, plants, animals and the Catholic faith in a specific country. The Annual Mexican Dinner & Cultural Day is the largest event at our parish and we need you to help us plan this exciting cultural fair. Become part of something spectacular!
Time Commitment - from March to July, our meetings take place monthly. Meetings increase to two in August, and weekly in September. The event usually takes place the last Saturday of September.
Spiritual Aspect - each cultural tent shares the history of how the faith was brought to that country and how it has been handed on through the generations up until this day. Stories about saints or particular devotions from that country are presented as well as prayers in the native language. Songs of praise are performed on stage by different musical groups, and free prayer cards, rosaries, etc. are handed out.
Social Aspect - this event is free and open to the public (meal tickets can also be purchased). All are welcome to attend, participate, and volunteer. Signing up to help provides a great opportunity for individuals, families or ministry groups to interact and get involved with others in the parish and community. A large number of people are needed to make this event possible. You can connect with a dedicated group of people from the parish who are passionate about sharing the faith of our Universal Church with the community.
