Hospital, Home & Nursing Home Visits

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, these ministries are currently inactive until further notice.

"The faithful who are ill are deprived of their rightful and accustomed place in the [E]ucharistic community. In bringing communion to them the minister of communion represents Christ and manifests faith and charity on behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot be present at the [E]ucharist. For the sick the reception of communion is not only a privilege but also a sign of support and concern shown by the Christian community for its members who are ill." (Pastoral Care of the Sick, no. 73)

Hospital Ministry

Our Parish Hospital Ministry provides communion and prayer to parishioners staying in area hospitals. For those facilities that have a volunteer program, all patients registered as "Catholic" at the time of admission are visited. Currently this includes Baylor Medical Centennial and Medical City Frisco, which are visited daily, as well as Baylor Rehab, which is visited on Sundays as well as one day during the week.

Since the other two area hospitals, Baylor Medical Center Frisco and Texas Health Resources Frisco don't currently have a volunteer program, visitations can only be done on an on-request basis as a visitor. To request a visit to this facility, please call the Parish Office at 972-712-2645.

Area hospitals outside the parish boundaries are serviced in a similar way by neighboring parishes. The table below has the parish name and contact information for each facility.

Nursing Home Ministry

Our Parish Nursing Home Ministry provides communion and prayer to parishioners staying in area nursing homes. Parkview in Frisco, Parsons House Frisco, Stonemere Rehab Center, Sunrise of Frisco, The Cottages at Chapel Creek, and Victoria Gardens are visited weekly. To get yourself or a loved one added to the visitation list, or to request a visit to one of the other three area facilities, La Fontaine Memory Care, Settlers Ridge Care Center of Celine or Tribute Senior Living, please call the Parish Office at 972-712-2645.

Frisco area nursing homes in Denton County are serviced in a similar way by St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church of the Diocese of Fort Worth. This includes the following facilities:  BeeHive of Frisco, Bethesda Gardens Frisco, Landing at Watermere Frisco, Mustang Creek, Prairie Estates, Saddle Brook, and Watermere at Frisco. To request a visit to one of these facilities, please contact the St. Martin de Porres Parish Office at 469-287-7624.

Homebound Ministry

Our Parish Homebound Ministry provides communion and prayer to parishioners who are either permanently or temporarily unable to leave their homes to attend the weekly celebration of the Eucharist. To request a visit, please call the Parish Office at 972-712-2645.

The Sacrament of Penance & Reconciliation (Confession) or Anointing of the Sick

Penance & Reconciliation (Confession): See the parish Reconciliation web page here. If the person requesting the sacrament, due to their condition, is unable to travel to the parish, they, a family member, guardian, or caregiver should call the parish office at 972-712-2645, to arrange for a priest to visit the person to administer the sacrament.

Anointing of the Sick: For detailed FAQs, see the parish Anointing of the Sick web page here. For information on requesting the sacrament, see the answer to "How Does One Request the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick?" FAQ here.

Should you have further questions or require additional guidance, please contact the parish Pastoral Associate, Deacon Tony Silvestro at tsilvestro@stfoafrisco.org or (972) 712-2645 x251.
