Moving the stock directly to St. Francis allows you to take a full tax deduction on the value of the stock at the time of the donation regardless of acquisition cost. This means you can also avoid the costs of selling stock and taxes you might pay on the capital gains. Please consult your tax adviser to ensure this works for your personal tax situation. PLANNED GIVING Planned giving is the process of carefully selecting the best method and asset for making a charitable gift. Such a gift can enable you to take full advantage of the tax laws to accomplish your financial and charitable goals. Planned gifts can be made through, among others: Bequests by will or living trust Charitable Lead or Remainder Trusts Charitable Gift Annuities Beneficiary benefits from IRA’s, pensions, or financial accounts. Our Senior Director of Operations or your tax adviser can provide more information about these options or answer any questions you may have about making a gift or pledge to St. Francis. BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS IRAs/QCDs For eligible tax years, individuals age 70½ or over can exclude up to $108,000 for 2025 from gross income for donations paid directly to a qualified charity from their IRA. When donation checks are sent by financial institutions rather than directly from the donor—such as with QCDs—we often do not receive enough information to identify the donor or the intended fund (e.g., operating fund, building maintenance fund, Capital Campaign fund, etc..). To ensure your gift is properly recorded and applied according to your wishes, please email Khastings@stfoafrisco.org (or call 214-619-1058) and provide us with your name, the name of your financial institution, the approximate amount of your donation, and the fund to which you wish to contribute. • St. Francis Jubilee Year 2026 | St Francis of Assisi

This celebration is a time of remembrance and renewal. He represents a life that "blossoms from the gift and offering of oneself." This week, Pope Leo proclaimed a special Jubilee Year to mark the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s death, running from January 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027. Since our parish is dedicated to St. Francis, we are excited to begin planning meaningful ways to celebrate and commemorate this extraordinary year. We look forward to sharing more details through the bulletin, social media. Franciscan Jubilee Year 800th Anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi's Death Message from Pope Leo XIV In this Year of Grace, I wish to offer you a prayer that Saint Francis of Assisi may continue to instil in all of us perfect joy and harmony: Saint Francis, our brother, you who eight hundred years ago went to meet Sister Death as a man at peace, intercede for us before the Lord. You recognized true peace in the Crucifix of San Damiano, teach us to seek in Him the source of all reconciliation that breaks down every wall. You who, unarmed, crossed the lines of war and misunderstanding, give us the courage to build bridges where the world raises up boundaries. In this time afflicted by conflict and division, intercede for us so that we may become peacemakers: unarmed and disarming witnesses of the peace that comes from Christ. Amen. With these sentiments, I express my fervent wishes for good, especially for all of you who follow the charism of the Poverello of Assisi and for those who will commemorate the anniversary of his dies natalis in various ways, while I cordially impart my desired Apostolic Blessing. From the Vatican, 7 January 2026 LEO PP.
