Coronavirus Precautions

Sign up for Flocknote
UPDATED JUNE 29, 2020

Dear Parish Family,

In light of the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases in Dallas County and in recognition that the nine counties of the Diocese of Dallas face different realities with regard to this coronavirus, Bishop Burns has asked the individual pastors to determine whether or not they should resume Sunday Masses for their parishes at this time.

After consultation with parish leadership, I have determined to press forward with Sunday Masses this weekend (June 27-28) at a maximum of 50% capacity with strict safety protocols in place. Masks will be required of all who attend Mass this weekend. No one will be seated without a mask. Social distancing will be enforced. Hand sanitizer will be provided. Everyone is asked to sign up for Mass through Signup Genius (click here to sign up). Please also note that we have adjusted the Mass times to allow for proper sanitization between each Mass.

I would like to remind all of our parishioners that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to be suspended at this time. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms please stay home (to see a list of updated symptoms per the CDC, click here). We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments necessary in the days and weeks ahead.

We will relook at the weekend data and provide additional go-forward guidance regarding next week’s mass schedule, but this weekend we will plan to hold mass as previously scheduled in the most safe way possible.

Please understand that the safety requirements are in place for you and your family’s protection. We continue to pray for an end to the pandemic and for the physical and spiritual health of our parishioners.

With every good wish,

Fr. Rodolfo Garcia
Pastor
Give Online
Due to the precautions being implemented, we are aware we may experience a decline in Mass attendance. If you have not, please consider signing up for our online giving platform, Faith Direct.  Our parish is a beautiful spiritual home to many and due to our fixed costs, we depend on our parishioner’s generosity to continue Christ’s mission in Frisco. Faith Direct allows you to donate once or on a recurring basis.

What We All Can Do
Currently there is no vaccine to protect against the Coronavirus. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) always recommends everyday preventative actions to reduce the spread of respiratory disease, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.(Pray a Hail Mary while you wash your hands)• Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces, using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and/ or experiencing symptoms of the disease, please call your doctor for evaluation.

The Diocese continues to be in touch with state and local health authorities and will alter these directives as needed. Please let us continue to pray for all who are sick and affected by this virus. Thank you for your cooperation. In order for us to communicate effectively Text stfoafrisco to 84576 for St. Francis of Assisi parish news and updates concerning the coronavirus.
Querida familia parroquial,
