Faith Formation
Kinder & 1st
Origin Family Faith Formation for our students in Kindergarten and 1st grade is strongly encouraged and is an important foundation for their eventual Sacrament Preparation in subsequent years.

For families with children in grades Kinder through 7th, Origin: Family will provide families multiple opportunities to grow in their faith with:

Parent Sessions - Once a month to introduce the monthly topics and provide guidance, inspiration and information for parents.

Family Centered Curriculum - A Family of Faith from Sophia Institute; easy to use materials to support at home learning and discussion.

Community Family Gatherings - Held once a month at St. Francis for the entire family.

Family Mentor Sessions - Opportunities to meet and receive support from our Family Mentors on-site. Open sessions and personal appointments will be available.

Family Learning Centers - Opportunity for families to participate in guided activities onsite, offered in November 2022 & February 2023!

Students preparing for Sacraments of First Communion will use an online, parent led preparation program in addition to A Family of Faith. Please continue reading additional information on sacrament preparation.
Each family enrolled in our K-7 “Family of Faith” program is provided with:

Grades 2nd to 5th
Since the family is the heart of faith in our domestic Church (our homes), Origin Family Formation is the primary source of programming for our students in 2nd - 5th grade.
For our students in 2nd - 5th who are ready to prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion, an additional sacramental preparation program is provided in a blended format using a mix of at home catechesis (online), workshops and at Church instruction. This is not a separate program, it is only offered in addition to Origin Family Faith Formation. An additional sacrament preparation fee is applicable for all students enrolled in Sacrament Preparation. This fee is in addition to any applicable registration fee.
Grades 6th and 7th
Since the family is the heart of faith in our domestic Church (our homes), Origin Family Formation continues to be the primary source of programming for our students in 6th - 7th grade.
For our Students in 6th - 7th who wish to prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion, we have an additional supplemental program that is provided in a hybrid format using a mix of at home catechesis (online) and at Church instruction. This is not a separate program, it is only offered in addition to Origin Family Faith Formation. Origin Family Faith Formation for our students in 7th grade is strongly encouraged and is an important foundation for their potential future Confirmation Preparation that begins in grades 8th-12th.
