Fr.Vincent Anyama
Fr. Vincent is originally
from Nigeria and is the third child of four. In the fall of 1998,
at the age of 19 years old, he entered the religious order of the ‘Emmanuelites.”
He studied philosophy at St. Joseph Major
Seminary, Ikot-Ekpene in Nigeria.
After his first year of philosophy studies in the spring of 1999, he was
sent to a country parish in Ngwa for 10 weeks of apostolic
(pastoral) work.
In the fall of 1999 his mother won a
Diversity Visa lottery to become a citizen of United States. She
was also eligible to move with her husband and her children under the age of 21. Fr.
Vincent was was 20 years and 6 months old at the time.
Fr. Vincent and his family left
Lagos, Nigeria, and arrived in Dallas on May 9, 2000. Fr.
Vincent entered Holy Trinity Seminary in the fall of 2001
to begin his studies for the Diocese of Dallas.
In
May 2004, he finished his undergraduate formation in Holy Trinity Seminary in
Irving.
He spent his Pastoral Year in St. Monica parish in Dallas. Fr. Vincent
studied theology at St. Mary’s
Seminary in Houston TX from 2004-2009 and was ordained a priest for the Diocese
of Dallas on June 13, 2009.
On July
24 Fr. Vincent assumed his pastoral duties as Parochial Vicar at St. Francis of
Assisi.
